    WOW! Who would have thought about turning the sanding pad SIDEWAYS where you don't need it so wide! WOW! This is a real revelation! You're a GENIUS. Nobody would have EVER figured that out on their own!

      I mean....I'm somebody and I figured it out. Thanks for the comment cause I sat and watched this old video for a few minutes and I was really enjoying do this work. Are you looking to refinish your floors?

      @@highlifeswisher Yep, gonna scrape them not all the way down to wood, but just the surface coating with a pole sander, then ultimately put 2 coats on.

    When you were pouring the PU, you needed to pour at a lower distance from the way you were pouring the PU in the garden water container. I can just see the PU coming out in a splattering manner,

    THANK YOU. Ran my mower dry, but wouldn't run when refueled because there's no way to manually prime. Starter fluid and holding the choke closed got it going immediately. Cheers!

    My wife n I are in a heated debate over the better way to refill. I learned to use a spice injector; Tony Chachere's; with your cleaning solution, fills it up without risking damage. She's adamant about the boiling water. Lemme know!!!

      Regardless of how you get the cap off, boiling water, channel locks, your teeth.....whatever, as long as you can screw the cap back on your good. The damage we need to be concerned about is the rubber material the needles poke through. Repeated removal and replacement of the bottle from the Swifter will cause the needles to wear out that rubber and leaks will start to occur. A even better way to do all of this is to find a way to refill the bottle without ever taking it off the Swifter. Ever. And then make a video on that! lol

    Hi, getting that top off has been a mystery to me. I am 66 for many years. After watching your video, you're right. You do need be strong cuz. I tried the channel locks. And I just didn't have enough, Frank. So from now on, I am going to take my tops off. Use them as much as I can. I'm going to put white vinegar. In it and put some drops of essential oils and have my own sense. Whenever I want them to sorry. The punctuation is bad in this. The phone's doing it, it's not me, but thanks for the tip.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

    Looks good Mike I did my floors 9. Yrs ago oil base minded it took more then two days to dry. On dah 3 I had help moving the couch back a f the weight of couch made my foot twist my shoe so I ended up with foot marks. Not good. Lessons learned oil base polyurethane needs more then 3 days more like 5 days.

  • @johnhouli3450
    @johnhouli3450 11 місяців тому

    On previous post y people they state that oil base polyurethane like what you used has a super harsh smell to it. Did yours? Did you use fans to help dry the floor or did you just open windows. Was this project done in winter or summer. Ty

      You’ll want good ventilation. Definitely recommend having warmer outdoor temps to help with that, especially if it’s a house that’s going to be lived in around time of finishing. The solvent smell will be very strong for the first few days. It’ll dissipate slowly after that. I’d say 2 weeks to not being a noticeable smell.
